Homework: Creative Commons (Due 4/6)

You’ve learned about copyright. You’ve learned about fair use. You’ve even argued about it a little with each other. Isn’t there anything in between? I’m so glad you asked. There is, and it’s called a “Creative Commons License.” “Wait,” you say, “what the heck is that?” Your homework this week is to find out and to give your opinion on it.
Click the link below to watch two short videos about Creative Commons. Watch the one titled “Building on the Past” first (2 min.) and then watch the one directly above it called “Get Creative.” (4 min.)

When you are done watching the videos, please post a comment below that answers the following questions:
- What is a creative commons license and what makes it different from a regular copyright?
- Why was creative commons created in the first place?
- Do you think it is important to have creative commons licenses along with regular copyrights? Why or why not?

1. it Copyrights only the parts you dont want changed or taken or if you want creadit for it.
2.to help peolple who dont understand the laws of copwrite and to let you copywrite your things without spending money.

(1) A creative commons licenense is a license that lets you put only some of the copyright restrictions on your work.
(2)Creative Commons was created in the first place to promote creativity from peole who might be confused with the copyright rules.
(3)I think its important and good to have creative commons licenses because it makes it easier to legally share your work through the world, which promotes creativity.

If permision has been granted, the work is available.

CC= Some rights reserved
They controll how much it is copy righted

They were created so it’s o.k for other peiople to use their work.

1. A creative commons license is something that was a copyrighted work but then was made available to certain users for certain purposes by whoever made it. It is different from a copyright because a copyright restricts EVERYONE from using the work.
2. Creative Commons was created so that people would be able to say that they want to allow certain people access to thier work.
3. I think that it is important to have creative commons among regular copyrights because then if a person really wants a friend or someont to legally use their work for some purpose they can. I think that people should be able to share thier work if they want to.

1. a creative commons license is type of copriht that is unique and more exact. for example, u can choose to make ur product under a creative commons license that will only let you not sell it… so there many types of licences basically.
2.creative commons was created/built so that people who wanted their works to be shared in a specific way could do that without their works being completely illegal to plagarize
3. i dont think there should be any regular copyrights AT ALL. i hate copyrights because they dont let artists have enough freedom. creative commons lets people do what they want with their work/

Creative commons were created 2 tell u that is ok to share the work 2gether.
I think that having creative commons licenses along with regular copyrights is important because what if someone just wants 2 copy sum1s work partially? You would need to have creative common.
